#Journey2AMillion Spotlight
Julia Glade Bender, MD
September 14, 2014
Of all the money raised for cancer research in the U.S., less than 5% goes to support pediatric cancer research. Kids don’t have the ability to ask for a fairer share of cancer funding, so Julia Glade Bender, MD, a pediatric oncologist, researcher and ALSF grantee, is helping to be their voice. She and her AMM team are part of the Developmental Therapeutics Program at Columbia University/ The Children's Hospital of New York, which brings novel cancer therapies to children for whom standard treatments have failed. They know how much the dollars ALSF raises matter to developing new treatments for kids with cancer so they’re going the distance this September.
