Duck’s Waddlers
Some Run, Others Walk, We Waddle in memory of Our Duck….that’s the motto the team appropriately named Duck’s Waddlers who is participating in Alex’s Million Mile again to honor the memory of Rob “Duck” Kemp.
Duck was diagnosed with leukemia (ALL) in September 2000 at the age of 8. He fought for over seven years and endured intensive chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Duck relapsed three times and had three bone marrow transplants (his sister Cally was the donor in two of the transplants) Duck remained strong both mentally and physically throughout his battle and lived by his mantra, “You gotta do what you gotta do.” Duck passed away on February 1, 2008 and is very much missed by his family and friends who walk as part of Alex’s Million Mile to raise funds and awareness for all childhood cancers.
