Juan Jose is a sweet, super caring boy who loves to be around his favorite people. His favorite colors are royal and navy blue, and he likes to dance and play outside. He calls his daddy’s truck the “vroomvroom” and loves to ride in it. He worries about everyone else before himself, especially his younger brother, Francisco, who was diagnosed with embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma (ERMS).

Learning about his brother’s condition has been a big step in Juan Jose’s life. He loves to be the center of attention and has been slowly learning about anger, jealously, and how not to get attention in a negative way. Understanding when his family has to go to the hospital is tough, but he’s become more aware and adjusted to the situation very well.

Juan Jose feels his best when he’s around his family as much as possible. He asks about receiving his SuperSib mailings because they’re fun and make him feel special. His family makes sure he knows he is loved as much as his brother every day.
