The family of a young boy who lost his life to cancer will sponsor an Alex’s Lemonade Stand from noon to 5 p.m. Sun., June 7 at The Oaks mall on the Muvico lawn, Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks.
The Taggart family of Newbury Park has raised more than $90,000 in the past nine years in memory of John Taggart, who died from childhood cancer in 2005.
The Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) is named in honor of Alexandra “Alex” Scott who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a type of childhood cancer, before her first birthday. Following a stem cell transplant, Alex decided she wanted to hold a lemonade stand with profits going to doctors to “help other kids, like they helped me.” Alex’s first lemonade stand raised $2,000.
In an effort to join the battle against childhood cancer, The Whig Lane kids will host their 10th annual Alex's Lemonade Stand on June 6 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 340 Whig Lane Road in Pilesgrove.

The Lemon Run/Walk will take place on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Rosland Park in Edina at 10 a.m. The 2.2-mile race will feature food, prizes, live music, The Minnesota Vikings and ice cold lemonade.
