A group of young activists, and their moms, will be selling lemonade in downtown Naperville on June 13 to support the fight against pediatric cancer.

As part of the nationwide observance of Alex's Lemonade Days, the five children, ages 1 to 4, will join their mothers, Naperville resident Alicia Mulvihill and her friend Jennifer Saxton, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 13 in the front yard of the Mulvihills' house at 529 W. Jackson Ave. Proceeds from the group's sales will go to an organization founded by the late Alex Scott, who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma in infancy and raised more than $1 million for research into the childhood cancer strain before she passed away at age 8.

Saxton, a Frankfort resident, said she and her family know numerous children fighting cancer. The two moms, she said, want to involve their kids from a young age in efforts that contribute to society.

"This was a good way for our children to understand that the world isn't perfect," Saxton said.
