Forty runners ran for Alex’s Lemonade Stand and raised $24,000 for the cancer research charity – enough money to fund three months of cancer research, according to organizers.
Defer Intermediate sixth-grade students, Kiely Spreitzer and Alex Dabrowski, have been chosen for recognition by the "Kids Making a Difference" program. Kiely Spreitzer was nominated by her homeroom teacher, Michelle Kravetz.
