This 5K run raises funds for Alex's Lemonade Stand, a national organization with local roots dedicated to fighting childhood cancer. The run begins and ends at Memorial Hall in Fairmount Park, with the course covering 3.1 miles in West Fairmount Park. Registration is $35.
Although Erin Delia Moore lost her battle to childhood cancer in 2005, her name carries on through the team her Collegeville-area family has organized for Lemon Run Philadelphia, being held Nov. 9 in Fairmount Park.
Her mother, Diane Moore, said Team Erin has taken part in each of the six years that the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation’s 5K Run/Walk and Kids’ Dash event has been held.
The Latino superstar will support local nonprofit Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation on his upcoming tour, donating a portion of proceeds of pre-sale tickets to the organization through Nov. 6. He is also setting aside tickets for each show for Alex's Lemonade Stand families.

A Sewell family whose 10-year-old son has battled childhood cancer will be honored as Volunteers of the Year at the ninth annual Lemon Ball, Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation's gala Saturday, Jan. 10, at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown.
On Saturday, October 18, Greenville School hosted a walk-a-thon for Alex’s Lemonade Stand. Kristina Cruz and Coreen DeLuca, Student Council advisors, spearheaded the event and the Student Council members organized the event and helped during the day.
