Eligibility*
High School: All rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors are eligible to apply for acceptance into the 2020 Student Leadership Academy.
Travel: All accepted students must be able to arrange their own transportation to and from Philadelphia.
*Applicants that do not meet the eligibility requirements will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Requirements
Due to the high volume of applications we receive each year, we require applicants to submit applications that are free from grammatical and spelling errors. Applicants should also respond to the questions on the application in short answer essay form. Failure to comply with these requirements will hinder your chances of being accepted into the program.
All high school applicants are required to submit an application and a teacher/counselor reference no later than April 10, 2020. Upon receipt of these documents, applicants will be asked to complete a phone interview with the High School and Universities Specialist at Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation at your earliest convenience. Applications submitted after April 13th will be considered on a rolling basis until May 18, 2020 if spots for SLA are still available.
Selection
High School: 45 students will be admitted
All students will be notified of their status (accepted, waitlisted or not accepted) by April 17, 2020.
All accepted students must officially enroll into the 2020 Student Leadership Academy and pay the non-refundable $20 registration fee no later than May 1, 2020 or their spot in the cohort will be forfeited to a student on the waiting list.
Applicants who applied after the April 10, 2020 deadline will be considered on a rolling basis until May 18, 2020.
