Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) grew from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott, who was just 4 years old when she announced she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer.
This weekend, Price Chopper figures to be a bit busier than normal with the third annual Alex's Lemonade Stand taking place.
The event benefiting research efforts for pediatric cancers has typically been a Saturday-only affair, but this year it's expanding to Friday. Hours will be from 3 to 7 pm Friday and 10 am to 3 pm Saturday.

While runners are gearing up for the inaugural Walkway Marathon on June 13, Jarrett Kuklis of Pleasant Valley prepares for a different kind of victory: victory over childhood cancer. Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation hosts a volleyball tournament 10:45 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, at Veterans Park, Lawrence Road between Warren Boulevard and Hillsdale Lane, Broomall.
The tournament supports the fight against pediatric cancer.
