Willamina was 9 months old when she went for a well-baby check-up.  Her doctor palpated her abdomen and sent us for blood work and an ultrasound.  Within an hour, we were being told that Willamina had a massive tumor on her liver and we needed to rush to the nearest children's hospital.

Willamina was diagnosed with Stage 4 hepatoblastoma. We were cautioned that her prognosis was 'dismal' at best.  Ten rounds of traditional chemotherapy, a liver transplant, several lung resections for metastases, a stem cell procedure, along with various other hurdles, and Willamina is in remission.  It has been a long two years, but Willamina has been brave and persistent in her fight.  We pray every day that life will be normal and stay normal for a long, long time!
