Your workplace or organization can raise money to fight childhood cancer with any of these fun fundraising ideas!
Try one of the ideas below or be creative and make one up — the options are limitless! Once you decide on an event, remember to register your fundraiser.
Hold a challenge or contest: Whether it is a cook-off, trivia or other contest (Guess how many lemons — or jelly beans, M&M’s, etc. — are in a jar; 50/50 raffle), have colleagues donate to participate. Whoever wins the contest or challenge gets a fun trophy or small prize, along with bragging rights.
Have a fundraising contest amongst departments or office locations: Have employees form teams or break everyone up by department or office location and encourage each team to fundraise for ALSF. Each team can create an ALSF online fundraising page where they ask for donations from family or friends, or even host their own mini fundraisers. Whoever raises the most money for ALSF wins a prize like an extra personal day or can leave early on Friday.
Raffle off a reserved parking spot with the proceeds going to ALSF. Check out this example!
Yellow Spirit Day or Jeans Day: Have employees donate $5 to ALSF to dress down and wear jeans or a yellow t-shirt to work. You could also purchase ALSF t-shirts in bulk (using the 25% discount you receive as an event host) and sell them to employees at the regular cost
Silent Auction at the Office: Request a letter of support from your event coach and ask local businesses to donate gift certificates, tickets and products. Put together a few nice packages or gift baskets and have co-workers bid on their favorite items.
Host a Virtual Event: Whether your employees are working from home or in the office, they can raise money for ALSF without leaving their desk chairs! Your office can host virtual Bingo or trivia night or even a virtual cooking class, and have employees, friends, family, vendors and other contacts donate to participate.
Fundraise online as an office/company: It’s easy and convenient to support your fundraising efforts with only a few clicks! You’ll get your own company ALSF page where you can choose a hero to honor and post pictures or comments to your page's supporters. People can easily spread the word about your fundraising efforts via email or through social media sites to collect donations from friends, family, co-workers, vendors and contacts.
Sell Paper Lemons: Sell paper lemons at the office! Have your colleagues, customers and/or vendors purchase a paper lemon and sign them. You can then hang the paper lemons in a public place to display everyone’s support in the fight against childhood cancer. Fun tip: create a friendly competition between departments to see who can sell the most paper lemons, or challenge colleagues to create a design out of the lemons. Download and print the paper lemon template or reach out to your event coach to receive a pack of paper lemons.
Promote philanthropy and wellness among your employees —We have some great options to help support wellness and engage your employees, such as hosting a 5K or organizing a company fundraising tournament through ALSF Games. Learn more about our workplace wellness options.
Make ALSF a part of your annual conference or retreat: Many of the above fundraising ideas could be a great way to bring together employees at your annual conference, retreat or other company-wide event.
