Books can be borrowed from your local library or ordered through interlibrary loan. Most libraries have a computerized database of all materials available in their various branches. A librarian can show you how to use this system, how to request a book from another branch, and how to place a book on hold if it is currently checked out. If a book is not in your library’s collection, ask the librarian to try and obtain it from another library by requesting an interlibrary loan. This common practice allows you to borrow books, including medical textbooks, from university or medical school libraries. You can also purchase books from your local bookstore, your favorite online bookseller, or from the publisher.
