The Talley Family, Arkansas

Meet the Talley family, ALSF's Childhood Cancer Hero family representing the many kids affected by cancer in Arkansas this year.

Alex's Lemonade Days is an annual 3-day fundraiser where supporters from coast to coast hold lemonade stands in a unified effort to raise funds for childhood cancer research. Support the Talley family and all kids with cancer by hosting an Alex's Lemonade Stand in your hometown!

In August of 2005 the Talley family’s world changed suddenly when their son, Elijah, 4, was diagnosed with stage IV neuroblastoma. Elijah successfully completed treatment at a local children's hospital, but after enduring months of high dose chemotherapy, a stem cell transplant and radiation, Elijah's horrible disease returned. After much research and contemplation, the Talleys decided to travel 1200 miles to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia to treat Elijah's relapse. Through the many years of Elijah’s treatment, they have traveled back and forth countless times between Arkansas and Philadelphia and experienced major triumphs as well as major setbacks. They hold lemonade stands with the hope that someday we will have cures for childhood cancers.

This year they will hold a lemonade stand Saturday, June 13 during Alex's Lemonade Days, June 12-14, 2015. Read more about Elijah, a childhood cancer hero.
