Learn More »Kyle is an easygoing, happy-go-lucky guy who likes relaxing and hates being rushed. He likes beaches, Hawaii, and his toy poodle puppy, Holly. A music lover, Kyle is showing potential on the drums. He also gives great hugs and head massages.
In mid November of 2013, Kyle’s dad noticed a hard lump on the inside of his left leg. His pediatrician referred him right away to Lucille Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford in Palo Alto, CA. Further tests, scans and a biopsy confirmed that it was a high grade undifferentiated sarcoma, a soft tissue tumor.
By early December, Kyle had started aggressive chemotherapy. He endured many nights in the hospital, a seizure and surgery to remove the tumor. As a reminder of the battle he’s been through, he has an 18 inch scar that runs from his mid thigh to just below his knee. He successfully completed chemotherapy on Easter, April 20, 2014 and was declared cancer free in time for summer vacation.
Kyle’s parents hope that scientists will soon find a cure for cancer and better, less obtrusive ways of diagnosing and treating it. Meanwhile, Kyle’s family is grateful he is in remission and hopes he lives a very long, healthy, happy, full life.
