Tacey was diagnosed with bilateral Retinoblastoma when she was 7 months old. After starting chemo, it was determined that it was too dangerous to keep her left eye due to vitreous seeding. Her left eye was removed when she was 9 months old. Tacey continued chemo and other treatments trying to save her right eye.

When she was 4 years old, new tumors started forming in her right eye.  She underwent plaque radiation to once again try to save that eye.

During the summer of 2006, it was determined that Tacey's right eye could no longer be saved. Tacey was able to attend the first week of first grade before her eye was removed. She had to undergo chemo once again. Tacey adjusted to life without her vision very quickly! She attends regular public school and is in advanced classes.  She also rides horses, swims, sings and plays several instruments.

Tacey is now 14 and in August was diagnosed with olfactory neuroblastoma. This is her fourth time to fight cancer.  Olfactory neuroblastoma is extremely rare.  She has once again begun very intensive and aggressive chemo in the hopes the tumor will shrink enough to be surgically removed safely.  Her chemo will continue until the end of July 2015.

Her birthday is September 27.  Thankfully her birthday falls between hospital stays for chemo!!  That means she can celebrate her birthday with friends rather than doctors and nurses, although some of them are our friends, too!!!

Thank you for your prayers for Tacey.  To follow her progress:  Prayers for Tacey Raye
