This year we learned how cancer can change a family in an instant. Every 3 minutes, another child is diagnosed with cancer. The drugs used to treat our children are the same as are used to treat adults, even though their cancers are very different. And the short and long term side effects are as catastrophic as the cancer itself! Yet less than 4 percent of federal funding is spent on childhood cancer research. Don't our children deserve better than 4%? We would like to raise awareness that September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and raise money that will be specifically designated toward research for better drugs and a CURE! Will you join us? September 12 we will hold the First Annual Tyler Gold Run for Childhood Cancer. Why gold? Gold is the ribbon associated with childhood cancer, because "our children are more precious than gold." Our goal is to raise $10,000.
