Thank you to everyone who gathered at the Sonoma Skypark for the first ever Mardi Party! With over $21,000 raised at the event, that’s enough to fund over two months’ worth of a research project.
All attendees were truly in the Mardi partying spirit as the Brass Animals band kicked off the reception with their spectacular funk renditions of popular tracks. There was plenty of New Orleans fare too, with hurricane cocktails accompanying homemade gumbo and a spectacular cheese display from a local creamery.
At dinner, everyone strapped on their bibs for a feast of crawdads, corn, sausage and other food straight from the bayou. Before the DJ dance party commenced, the Banaszeks spoke about their inspirational son C.J., who bravely battled cancer before passing away in July 2014. The support shown all night, from every attendee to the amazing number of raffle tickets sold for the custom wine chest, was superb and will make a huge difference in the fight against childhood cancer.
