Once my niece, Alex, and I heard about Alex Scott and her story, we became inspired to do our part of carrying on her vision and legacy. We see so many unique and special benefits that come out of this Foundation and we are extremely honored to be a part of it.

We knew we wanted to have a larger impact on our community by having a grand type of stand. We gathered all of our friends, family and co-workers to help us out. Together, we raised close to $20,000, have had around 100 people donate blood, made Las Vegas’ local news multiple times and brought awareness to our community. This year, we are elated to be an official Grand Stand and to put Las Vegas on the map for being a large supporter of childhood cancer research.

We love seeing the compassion and good hearts of everyone attending the event. That has definitely had the most impact on us. There are so many wonderful people in the world and we’re so lucky to be a part of something like this. Moreover, children who volunteer have filled our hearts the most. Seeing kids become a part of this event and then going on to do more is astonishing. That is worth all the hard work, alone. Also, witnessing a community come together for a greater cause is wonderful and we feel fortunate to be a part of it.

Felicia and Alex’s tip: It’s really important to have fun at your stand. Inspire others to get involved, especially children. Using flyers, social and local media is a great way to promote your event.
