Dr. Natalia Jura
Natalia Jura, PhD, collaborates with fellow Crazy 8 researchers in Drugging MYCN. Dr. Jura is a Professor in the Department of Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology and an Investigator for the Cardiovascular Research Institute at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine. She also serves as an Associate Director of the Quantitative Biosciences Institute at UCSF. Dr. Jura’s lab aims to understand molecular principles of signal transduction events under physiological conditions and human disease. Her primary areas of interest include structure-function studies of receptor tyrosine kinase activation mechanisms, cell membrane participation in cellular signaling by multi-protein signaling assemblies, and understudied protein kinases. Her group’s expertise in structure-function studies of multi-protein complexes will contribute towards understanding the molecular architecture of the protein complexes formed by MYCN with the goal of identifying new druggable interfaces.
Every child deserves the opportunity to chase their dreams and achieve their full potential. As a mother of two young children, I am committed to understanding childhood cancers and preventing them from getting in the way of children’s hopes and aspirations.
