Dr. Cornelia Kasper
Dr. Cornelia Kasper, PhD, brings her unique expertise in advanced cell culture technologies to her Crazy 8 team as they study the origins of Ewing sarcoma. She provides biotechnological instrumentation and know-how to optimize the clinical translation of their experimental research findings. She is currently a professor at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna, Austria and is a peer reviewer, editor and board member for several scientific journals. Her research aims at advancing the application of physiological conditions in cell-based assays, therapies and products.
“ALSF funding enables my group to expand research into more detailed mechanistic studies and gives us the opportunity to work with really special materials and in a much more inter- and trans- disciplinary environment,” said Dr. Kasper.
Researching childhood cancer is especially challenging since during growth and development the human “system” is very dynamic. But any research aiming to improve therapeutic options and targeting disease is of tremendous importance.
