The event was an overwhelming success, raising over $1 million for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, breaking last year’s record for the annual event by $300,000.

"I already have an adviser at my school for a club, and I would like to do some type of fundraiser at football games," said Becca, "September is childhood cancer awareness month, so it seems like the perfect time to start."
Gerard C. Blobe of Medical Oncology has received an award from the Alex's Lemonade Stand for a project entitled "Synergistic Differentiation Therapy in Neuroblastoma." Total funding will be $250,000.

A national organization called Alex’s Lemonade Stand is making appearances in Augusta this summer.
Alex’s Lemonade Stand is an organization that raises money for cancer research on behalf of a 4 year old girl named Alex who had big dreams. Those dreams were cut short when she succumbed to her childhood cancer. A local Augusta resident fell in love with her story after finding it through news media.
