For many charitable foundations who want to fund childhood cancer research, it’s often hard to know where to start. For newer childhood cancer foundations, especially, the passion is there but the infrastructure to support the review and vetting of research proposals can take a long time to build. Collaboration and partnership can help your charity reach its goals of funding research, while also ensuring your investment is being utilized in the best possible way. Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation offers smaller charitable foundations opportunities to partner and fund childhood cancer research that has gone through Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundations’s (ALSF) highly competitive grants review process.
Here are five ways your charitable foundation can benefit from collaboration with ALSF:
1. You’ll know you’re supporting the best research.
The ALSF competitive, peer-reviewed grants process attracts hundreds of grant applications each year. Each application is evaluated and scored by our Scientific Review Board which consists of over 90 top researchers in the field. ALSF is also the only childhood cancer research organization that has been given the NCI peer-reviewed funder designation for rigorous selection of research grants.
2. You can restrict your dollars to a specific research project of your choosing.
We will send you a curated list of high-priority projects that match your funding criteria. You select the project(s) after careful consideration and we earmark your co-funding dollars to those specific research projects.
3. Awareness of your foundation will increase.
Your foundation's name, a brief blurb about your history, and a list of projects you're co-funding will be featured on our website, under the Charity Collaborators page. For the first project you co-fund with us, we’ll share news of our new partnership on ALSF’s popular social media channel and via a press release. Lastly, we’ll send you our Charity Collaborator seal to post on your website.
4. You’ll receive research updates in a personalized impact report.
As research updates come in from the researchers whose projects you’re supporting, we’ll put these into personalized impact reports. This will include quotes, details on publications, and key findings. You can share this with your stakeholders and supporters so they know where their money is going, too.
5. You’ll receive invites to our Charity Collaborator Summits.
We host a Charity Collaborator Summit every year which features talks from researchers, break out groups, and you’ll get a chance to meet researchers and other ALSF charity partners. This is a great way to learn about advancements in the field and foster collaboration.
