Dr. Martin Eilers
After conducting promising research on a Crazy 8 Pilot Grant Project targeting MYCN in 2019, Martin Eilers, PhD, now collaborates alongside Crazy 8 researchers in Drugging MYCN. Dr. Eilers is the professor of biochemistry and molecular biology at the University of Würzburg in Germany. After establishing conditional use of MycER proteins as tools to study MYC function, he started his own group in Heidelberg where he was first associate and full professor at the University of Marburg. Now a member of EMBO and the Germany National Academy, Dr. Eilers is research director of the University of Würzburg comprehensive cancer center where his work focuses on how certain functions can be targeted with small molecules or therapy of MYC-driven tumors.
It [The Crazy 8] simply generates opportunities which I’ve never had before to translate mechanistic ideas into therapy.
