In December 2019, doctors found a large tumor on Aubriana’s brain. At 7 years old, she was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a type of brain cancer common in children.

After surgery, the tumor was removed. However, Aubriana developed left-side paralysis, and still had to undergo six weeks of proton radiation therapy. She is currently receiving a year of chemotherapy at St Joseph’s Children’s Hospital in Tampa to help decrease the odds of the cancer returning. She also gets an MRI every three months to ensure there is no reoccurrence of disease.

Today, Aubriana has many new obstacles to overcome. She has had to learn how to sit, stand, walk and feed herself all over again. She has physical therapy twice a week, speech and stem cell therapy three times a week and is getting braces made for her legs in hopes of improving her left-side weakness. Aubriana is also working with audiology for her hearing loss from chemotherapy medication and is seeing an ophthalmologist for her vision. The goal is to get her independent again.

Known as “the little unicorn girl who loves chocolate chip cookies,” Aubriana has stolen hearts and all that know her would describe her as many things, including: spunky, dynamic, charismatic, silly, loveable, passionate, a unicorn lover and humorous. Most of all, to her family she is tremendously courageous and inspirational! Her 10-year-old SuperSib, Abigail, is her biggest supporter.
