Jack is a crazy little 2-year-old who loves being outside, reading books and all things Sesame Street. You’d never know he was ever sick.

Despite medication from his pediatrician, Jack had ear infections and persistent fevers. When his parents noticed odd bruising on his skin, they went back to the doctor, who sent Jack in for bloodwork. Jack was just two weeks past his first birthday when he was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia.

He received four rounds of chemo and went through several bone marrow biopsies and spinal taps. He’s a hero to his family for going through treatment with a smile, showing them all what true bravery is. Today, he is in remission.

His mom, Molly, hopes that Jack will be able to understand how much love and support his community gave him during his battle. She wants him to give back by being his best self.

She also wants to let those who may be facing a childhood cancer diagnosis to know that it is okay to accept help. “We would have been lost without the love and support of our family, friends, and community,” she stressed.

The support from their community inspired Molly to hold a virtual bake sale in Jack’s honor and donate the proceeds to pediatric research through Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF). She says ALSF resonates with her family. “You can’t sit back and wait for a cure,” she said. “You need to work to help other kids from having to go through the battle. Doctors saved Jack because of meaningful research like what Alex’s strives to provide.”

Hero quote: “I love you through and through... yesterday, today, and tomorrow too.” – Jack
