Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF), a nonprofit dedicated to finding cures for all kids with cancer, will host The 3rd Annual Lemon Climb Houston, presented by Northwestern Mutual, on Saturday, March 28 2020 at 600 Travis Street Building, the tallest building in Texas.

Athletic achievers, stair climbing enthusiasts, ALSF supporters and others are invited to challenge themselves by climbing 35 or all 75 flights of stairs at 600 Travis Street. There is a $25 registration fee and participants are required to raise a minimum of $100 which funds two hours of childhood cancer research.  There is also a fast pass option with no required fundraising minimum for those who want to support the event but are unable to climb.  Since its inception, ALSF has awarded more than $12 million to research projects at hospitals and institutions in Houston.

Climbers can participate on their own or create a team to climb and fundraise together. Those feeling extra adventurous can register as “Elite Climbers” and are required to complete the climb in under 18 minutes. Once complete, all climbers and fast pass participants will have exclusive access to the tower’s private 60th floor Sky Lobby for a one-of-a-kind view of the Houston skyline. There will be plenty of fun on the ground level too, where people can gather for food, drinks and music throughout the morning. All participants will receive a limited-edition Lemon Climb Houston t-shirt.

“Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is excited to bring The Lemon Climb to Houston once again,” said Jay Scott, co-executive director and father of ALSF founder Alexandra “Alex” Scott. “Through our special events held across the country, including The Lemon Climb, we’ve been able to raise significant funds for the fight against childhood cancer. The Lemon Climb will allow participants to make a difference in the lives of children and their families facing the disease in a challenging and fun way, one step at a time. Climbing 75 flights of stairs is difficult but not nearly as difficult as what kids with cancer go through fighting their disease.”
