Triston was diagnosed with Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) on June 26th, 2003, three days after his 3rd birthday. After 6 months of chemotherapy God blessed us with one year of remission. Triston relapsed in January of 2005. Through April he underwent massive doses of chemotherapy and radiation to prepare for an unrelated bone marrow transplant. Shortly after, he developed graft versus host disease (GVHD). He fought for 2 more years. Triston died on December 12, 2007 at Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital from GVHD. Triston never complained about being sick or wondered why he wasn't like other kids. He was wise beyond his years. We would often joke about him being a little old man in a child’s body. He was a brave LITTLE MAN and will always be MY HERO! Mama loves you baby and I miss you so much.
