The Lemon Climb Returns to Denver on May 12

National charity invites Denver-area to join the fight against childhood cancer, one step at a time.

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF), a nonprofit dedicated to finding cures for all kids with cancer, will host The Lemon Climb Denver, presented by Northwestern Mutual, at the 1999 Broadway building in the Downtown Denver Business District on Saturday, May 12 at 8:30 am.

“We’re proud to be partnering with ALSF’s Lemon Climb for a second year,” said Scott Theodore, managing partner of Northwestern Mutual Denver. “We value helping people secure their futures and want to provide the same opportunity for these children, which is why we’re committed to this initiative that brings our community together to impact the lives of so many children and their families battling cancer.”

The Lemon Climb is the perfect opportunity to help kids with cancer while challenging yourself to walk, run, or race up 43 flights of stairs to the top of the 1999 Broadway building. Following the climb, participants can join the after-party at the top of the building while enjoying light bites and sky high views.

The Lemon Climb can be completed on your own or by creating a team of climbers and fundraising together to generate more of an impact. It is $25 to register, and participants must raise a minimum of $100 each, which funds two hours of childhood cancer research. All participants will receive a limited edition Lemon Climb T-shirt. New to The Lemon Climb Denver is the Fast Pass – no climbing involved, instead take the elevator to check out the views and then join the after-party for $15 and no fundraising minimum.

ALSF has awarded over $2.4 million to researchers at Denver institutions.

“Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is excited to bring The Lemon Climb back to Denver,” said Jay Scott, co-executive director and father of Foundation creator Alexandra “Alex” Scott. “Through our special events held across the country, like The Lemon Climb, we’ve been able to raise significant funds for the fight against childhood cancer. We’re hoping The Lemon Climb will allow participants to make a difference in the lives of children and their families facing the disease, one step at a time.”
