Seven years ago, when Endsley Batton was just 2 years old, she was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma.
Rhabdomyosarcoma is a cancerous tumor of the tissues that are attached to the bone. In Batton’s case, it was a 2-pound tumor found on her bladder.
“She was asleep with us in bed one night, and she was wiggling around so I was patting her, trying to get her to go back to sleep. I felt something weird on her stomach and I kind of nudged my husband and said, ‘Feel this,’ and he’s feeling around and he says, ‘That’s weird,’ ” said Tiffney Batton, Endsley’s mother.
