Zoe Miller, a 12-year-old Campbell resident, follows the motto, "If life gives you lemons, make lemonade."

Zoe will be making lemonade by the gallons to raise funds for childhood cancer research June 13 from 3 to 6 p.m. and again June 14 from 9 a.m. to noon outside the Recycled Bookstore, 275 E. Campbell Ave.

Zoe's lemonade stand is part of the nationwide Alex's Lemonade Days, an organization formed by Alexandra "Alex" Scott, who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma.

After receiving a transplant on her fourth birthday, Alex told her mom she wanted to have a lemonade stand so she could help children who were diagnosed with any type of cancer. Alex raised more than $1 million for childhood cancer research before passing away in 2004 at age 8.
