PHILADELPHIA, PA (June 2, 2015) – Following in the footsteps of Foundation creator Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004), Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) will invite volunteers across the country to host lemonade stands contributing to raising $1 million during Alex’s Lemonade Days (June 12-14). In her last year of life, Alex set a goal of raising $1 million, believing it was possible with the help of others. That year, stands were held in all 50 states. To commemorate that milestone, the Foundation has named Hero Family State Representatives in each state, proving that childhood cancer affects families everywhere.

In addition to Hero Family State Representatives enlisting the help of their communities, thousands of volunteers will also set up front yard lemonade stands to contribute to childhood cancer cures. For those looking for other ways to support the movement, there are multiple ways to get involved including visiting a lemonade stand, supporting one of the ALSF’s sponsor fundraisers, or simply showing support through social media.

Alex’s Lemonade Days

From Friday, June 12 – Sunday, June 14, thousands of volunteers will host Alex’s Lemonade Stands from coast to coast during Alex’s Lemonade Days in an effort to raise $1 million for the kids’ cancer fight. The stands will provide a fun and easy way for supporters of all ages to raise awareness and funds while learning the important lesson of giving back.

New this year, 50 families across the country will represent their states and join ALSF in the fight against childhood cancer during Alex’s Lemonade Days. These Hero Family State Representatives, all of whom have been personally impacted by childhood cancer, will share their stories, hold their own lemonade stands, and spread the word about ALSF’s mission throughout their communities.

For those not able to host a lemonade stand, ALSF’s website allows visitors to search for events by zip code, event name, or host name: www.AlexsLemonade.org/search/fundraisers

About Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004). In 2000, 4-year-old Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Since Alex held that first stand, ALSF has evolved into a national fundraising movement, complete with thousands of supporters across the country carrying on her legacy of hope. To date, ALSF, a registered 501(c)3 charity, has raised more than $100 million toward fulfilling Alex's dream of finding a cure, funding over 475 pediatric cancer research projects nationally.
