On January 11th 2014, I heard the words that no mom should ever hear, "Your child has cancer." Arden was diagnosed with Wilms tumor on both of her kidneys at 19 months old. That day, my life and the life of my family was forever changed. Arden had a long road ahead of her. She endured many rounds of chemotherapy, horrible and painful side effects, countless blood tests, scans, procedures and a major surgery that left her without a kidney. The good news is that the surgery that took away her kidney took away her cancer too. Today, Arden is a cancer-free, energetic, playful and sometimes sassy two-year-old little girl. As difficult as her cancer was for our whole family, I know just how lucky we are. So many children are dying of cancer every single day. It is up to us to change that. Arden's life was saved by some amazing doctors and a research study. Her treatment was a very specific protocol.

Childhood cancer research is so underfunded!  That is why I participated in Alex’s Million Mile.  I rode over 100 miles and raised over $3,400 for the cause in honor of my beautiful daughter, Arden.
