Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) is launching an NFT for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. NFTs or non-fungible tokens represent ownership of a digital asset, like a piece of artwork, a collectible, or a ticket to an event.
Gold is the official ribbon color for childhood cancer awareness. To increase awareness for the 800 children that are diagnosed with cancer each day across the world, ALSF is launching a digital gold ribbon. By purchasing this NFT, the owner will contribute towards childhood cancer research and will receive a gold ribbon NFT to display in their wallet, like a virtual awareness pin.
What NFTs are Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation selling?
NFTs are available in 3 levels:
- Level 1 funds 1 hour of pediatric cancer research
- Level 2 funds 5 hours of pediatric cancer research
- Level 3 funds 10 hours of pediatric research
NFT owners can also redeem their NFT for physical childhood cancer awareness items. All three levels can claim a physical childhood cancer awareness pin. Additionally, purchasers of the 10-hour NFT, can claim a hardcover copy of Alex and the Original Lemonade Stand, a children’s book about how Alex Scott, a 4-year old cancer patient, started a lemonade stand to raise money for her hospital.

Where does the money go?
Money raised through ALSF’s NFT sale goes towards childhood cancer research. Specifically, all proceeds will be distributed as part of ALSF’s cryptocurrency grant. This grant for childhood cancer research will be distributed entirely in cryptocurrency.
