A young Welcome resident is once again coordinating a community Alex's Lemonade Stand fundraiser.

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 20 and from 1 to 4 p.m. June 21 in front of the Rite Aid store in Welcome, 6475 Old U.S. Highway 52.

Last year, Tyler Grubb and several of his friends hosted an Alex's Lemonade Stand under the name Cups 4 a Cure in honor of Tyler's younger brother, Logan, who was diagnosed with kidney cancer. Logan has completed treatment and is doing well now.

This year, Tyler is hosting the fundraiser in honor of his brother and Gavin Hill, a young boy in northern Davidson County battling neuroblastoma. In 2014, the lemonade stand, which also featured baked goods made by several community members, raised $2,923.
