Volunteers were selling lemonade at Ridgewood pool in South Charleston Saturday afternoon to raise money for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation.

The organization is named after Alexandra Scott, who was diagnosed with cancer when she was 1-year-old, and then again when she was four.

After a stem cell transplant, Alex told her family she wanted to set up a lemonade stand to help other children fighting the disease.

She passed away at the age of eight, but Alex's Lemonade Stand became a national movement to help raise money for childhood cancer research.
