Folks in Thomasville are kicking off the first weekend in June with some downtown fun.

Crews set up the stage for a concert Friday night that is part of Thomasville's First Friday celebration.

Events Manager Sarah Turner said you can listen to good music and help a good cause.

Turner said, “We thought what would be a better way to kick off the summer than with a steel drum band.  We're going to have Alex's Lemonade Stand out here, which raises money for child cancer research and prevention. We're really excited to have them with us.  And as always, the concert is free!”

The Caribbean Crew Reggae and Steel Drum Band will perform at 7 p.m. on the corner of Remington and Broad.
