Children were on a mission Sunday to raise money for two different causes benefitting children.
Members of the Sunday school class of Incarnation Holy Sacrament Church, Drexel Hill, ages 4 to 14, manned the corners of Garrett Road and Shadeland Avenue for four hours collecting for Alex’s Lemonade Stand.
Anna Maloney, 9, of Havertown, was selling her original design “Live Nice” T-shirts to benefit anti-bullying and received a commendation from Teach Anti Bullying Inc. for her efforts.
Steven Norris initiated the lemonade fundraiser in front of his church 10 years ago after watching a documentary on Alexandra Scott, who created the campaign to pay for childhood cancer research while receiving treatment for neuroblastoma, a type of childhood cancer.
