Chicago Icons Chefs Paul Kahan, Tony Mantuano & Restaurateur Donnie Madia Gianfrancisco Host Chicago’s Culinary Event of the Summer
The Great Chefs Event Chicago brings together an incredible group of chefs to create a one-of-a-kind culinary experience to benefit childhood cancer research.
In their continuing efforts to raise funds and awareness for the fight against childhood cancer, Chicago’s own Chef Paul Kahan, restaurateur Donnie Madia Gianfrancisco (both of One Off Hospitality Group) and Chef Tony Mantuano (Spiaggia) host (newly renamed) The Great Chefs Event Chicago on Monday, August 13. This exclusive culinary event, presented by Northwestern Mutual and Volvo, will bring together 30 superstar chefs from across the country to serve signature tasting dishes at Revel Fulton Market, in the heart of Chicago’s trendy West Loop area, to benefit Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF).
Kahan, Madia and Mantuano call on their culinary friends and respected colleagues from Chicago and across the U.S. to share their one-of-kind creations with foodies and ALSF supporters alike. Over 30 chefs will donate their time and talent to create delicious food samplings indicative of their own personal styles. Participating chefs include Jamie Bissonnette (Boston + NYC), Justin Carlisle (Milwaukee), Donald Link (New Orleans), Stephanie Izard (Chicago) and Jason Hammel (Chicago). See the participating chef list below.
“Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is an organization we’re extremely proud to support, and this summer we’ll be joined by some of the most talented chefs in the industry,” says One Off Hospitality Chef & Partner, Paul Kahan. "Alongside the immense culinary community in Chicago, this year’s event will feature chefs from Los Angeles, Austin, New York, Milwaukee and Boston, all under one roof. It’s truly one of the most special dining events of the year.”
In addition to the delicious food, drinks and fabulous auctions, Liz and Jay Scott, parents of founder Alexandra “Alex” Scott, will share the story of how Alex and her lemonade stands inspired a national fundraising movement leading to innovative childhood cancer research.
Since it debuted in 2014, The Great Chefs Event Chicago (formerly known as Lemon: Chicago) has raised over $1 million to fight childhood cancer.
Individual tickets for The Great Chefs Event Chicago are $195 and sponsorship opportunities are available. For more information, visit GreatChefsChi.org.
