The 12th Annual Lemon Ball Returns Saturday, January 13, 2018

ALSF’s annual gala celebrates the life and legacy of founder Alexandra “Alex” Scott and honors dedicated supporters

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF), a nonprofit dedicated to finding cures for all kids with cancer, will host The 12th Annual Lemon Ball on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 6:30 PM at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown, 1201 Market Street. The Lemon Ball is presented by Applebee’s, Northwestern Mutual and Volvo, with additional support from Diamond Sponsors Auntie Anne’s and Firebirds Wood-Fired Grill and Diamond Benefactors and event co-chairs Chip and Stephanie Olson.

Join ALSF Co-Executive Directors and Alex’s parents Liz and Jay Scott and supporters of the Foundation for a night of amazing auctions, stories shared by childhood cancer heroes, memories of Alex and her inspirational legacy, honoree presentations, fabulous food and dancing.

The evening also features three awards: Stand Host of the Year, Volunteer of the Year and the Alex Scott Crystal Cup.

The 2018 Stand Host of the Year is Sydnie Bales of Exton, PA. Sydnie began hosting Alex’s Lemonade Stands when she was just 2 years old and has held over 150 stands in the past 12 years. At 13, Sydnie is closing in on her $200,000 fundraising goal. She hopes to raise $1 million by the time she graduates high school.

The 2018 Volunteer of the Year is the Salerno Family who are long time ALSF supporters and a childhood cancer hero family. Tony, now 13, was diagnosed with stage IV high-risk neuroblastoma when he was 2 ½ years old. Even though he still suffers from side effects and recently had a kidney transplant, Tony and his family have been busy this year, raising money for much needed research and representing ALSF as Hero Ambassadors and attending countless Foundation and supporter events.

The 2018 Alex Scott Crystal Cup will go to presenting sponsor Northwestern Mutual. Northwestern Mutual has been a loyal partner of ALSF since they launched their childhood cancer initiative back in 2012. They wanted to make a significant difference for a cause and they certainly have with over $12 million donated during that time. Through their many event sponsorships, support for the Travel for Care program and dedication to funding groundbreaking research, their commitment to ALSF has been impactful for kids fighting cancer everywhere.

Highlights of the evening include the honoree award presentations, hundreds of exclusive items in the silent auction and, as always, there will be exciting, bidding-war-worthy items featured in the live auction. Last year, The Lemon Ball raised over $840,000 for childhood cancer research.
