The diagnosis came when Ellie was just four years old.
"Ellie was diagnosed with Leukemia on November 30, 2010" said Dawn Bloechl who is Ellie's Mother.
Up until then, Ellie's Mom Dawn, described her as just a regular super healthy normal kid.
But then, Ellie became sick with a fever, that just would not seem to go away, so her mom took her to the doctor.
"They said she had severe double ear infections and sever tonsilitis," Dawn said.
That, was on a Saturday, and the doctors said she should be significantly better by Monday, so when Ellie would not get out of bed on Tuesday, her Mom knew something was wrong and took her back to the doctor.
"We went in at 2:15 and we never came home," said Dawn.
Which is when doctors diagnosed Ellie with Leukemia, and by the next day, she and her Mom were off to Doernbecher Children's Hospital in Oregon.
