KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- For two long months, left fielder Alex Gordon was a free agent. The heartbreak, anxiety, and nerves were all too real for super-fan Aidan Loney.

“I was really sad. I was just like, 'oh, we might lose him.' And when we might not have the money to sign him, I thought he was probably going to go somewhere else,” he said.
