Woodstock School District 200 elementary schools are filling up on lemonade and collecting change this September for Alex’s Lemonade Stand, an organization benefitting childhood cancer research.

Though September is pediatric cancer awareness month, students and staff are doing more than just spreading the word. Dean Street, Greenwood, Olson, Prairiewood, Mary Endres and Westwood elementary schools have hosted the benefit for the past several years, but are slowly increasing their participation from awareness to action. Each school is collecting change, and several are manning their own lemonade stands as an interactive form of volunteering and participating in the change drive.
