Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to finding cures for childhood cancer, has made grant awards to two Duke researchers.
Lisa Crose of Duke University received an ‘A’ Award for $450,000 for research into possible therapeutic treatment for alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma.
Many of the tumors caused by that cancer have a specific gene mutation, but the mutation alone has been shown to be not sufficient for tumors to form, according to a news release.
