Each cup of lemonade purchased during the downtown concert Friday night in Thomasville will help raise money to combat childhood cancer.
The Bennett family, Todd, his wife Gina and daughters, Haley and Abbey, are hosting Alex’s Lemonade Stand from 7 p.m.- 9 p.m. downtown Thomasville near Subway on Broad Street. There is no charge for the lemonade, but generous donations are appreciated. Todd is raising money in honor of Julia Johnson and Zack Singletary, two children from Thomasville who have battled cancer. He will also be taking donations for a cure for childhood cancer in preparation for a marathon in Disney World in January.
Todd said he works at Archbold and have several friends whose children, like Julia and Zach, have had cancer. “It is a great cause and I am very passionate about it,” said Todd.
The Bennetts will be assisted by the Johnson family, Sharon, Jeff and daughter, Julia. The Johnson’s were selected as Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation’s (ALSF) 2015 Georgia representative. Julia was diagnosed with leukemia in 2009 and the Johnsons, along with other Thomasville families, took up the cause in 2010, hosting lemonade stands and collecting donations.
