The recent Auntie Anne's C.A.R.E.S. Charity Golf Tournament raised more than $225,000 for three charities, the company said Thursday.

The 20th annual event, held earlier this month, involved more than 250 golfers playing at Conestoga Country Club, Crossgates Golf Club and Meadia Heights Golf Club, followed by an auction and luncheon.

Proceeds benefitted Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, which fights childhood cancer, Children Deserve a Chance Foundation, which supports academic achievement, empowerment and social engagement of local youth, and Conestoga Valley Christian Community Services, which aids homeless, at-risk and socially isolated people here.

C.A.R.E.S. (Community Action Requires Employee Support) was founded in 1995 by the employees of Auntie Anne's.
