In 2007, Washington Township's Cole Fitzgerald - then not even 3 years old - was diagnosed with Stage IV Neuroblastoma.
Cole underwent six chemo treatments, surgeries to remove the eight-centimeter neuroblastoma tumor from below his adrenal gland, stem cell transplant, and 12 sessions of localized radiation.
Cole beat his cancer and, as of October, has been in remission for seven years.
When Cole entered the journey to conquer his cancer, his family rallied around him and the cause.
"We've been involved with Alex's Lemonade for seven years now," said Keren Fitzgerald, Cole's mother. "We got involved with the foundation to give the girls and the whole family something positive to focus on."
