Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is proud to announce the appointments of the new Executive Board of Directors. Mary Austen, President & CEO of Tierney, has been named Board Chair. Kristin Kelly, Former Branding and Merchandising Executive, Lancome and Cole Haan, has been named Vice Chair. Ann Weiser, President of Weiser Works, has been named Secretary. Larry Vincent, Chief Branding Officer, UTA Brand Studio, has been named Treasurer.
The Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation Board of Directors is dedicated to helping grow and succeed in fulfilling the organization’s vision of finding cures for all kids with cancer. Members bring expertise from their various fields, while recognizing the importance of staying true to Alex’s front-yard lemonade stand beginnings. They are committed to preserving the integrity upon which Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation was built.
With the help of its Board of Directors and thousands of volunteers nationwide, ALSF has grown from the humble beginning of one lemonade stand to the leading childhood cancer organization in the world. “Our board members have helped ALSF grow to be the go-to organization for childhood cancer research, funding clinical trials and helping families get through the childhood cancer experience,” said Jay Scott, co-executive director of ALSF and Alex’s dad. “We look forward to these new executives guiding us to the day when all kids with cancer are cured.”
Mary Austen, newly appointed Board Chair, is the President & CEO of Tierney which she co-founded in 1989 as the Tierney Group. As the Philadelphia region’s leading full-service integrated advertising and public relations agency, Mary represents industry leaders including Choice Hotels, McDonald’s, Exelon, TD Bank, AmerisourceBergen and Comcast Corporation. Mary has built a culture of collaboration, curiosity and commitment to community through the agency’s mission of bringing partners strategic and creative thinking together with the freshest content regardless of platform or channel. Mary has been recognized for her philanthropic efforts by the Salvation Army, Police Athletic League, SmartCEO, the Pennsylvania League of Women Voters, the American Heart Association, United Way and the Greater Delaware Valley Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Kristin Kelly, newly appointed Vice Chair, is the former Branding and Merchandising Executive for Lancome and Cole Haan. Since 2009, Kristin has held numerous leadership roles in the Parents’ Association at her children’s school as well as in local community organizations such as the Greenwich Land Trust. Through her work with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, Kristin has also cofounded a series of celebrity chef dinners based in Jackson Hole, WY which have raised over $700,000 for pediatric cancer research since 2017.
Ann Weiser, newly appointed Secretary, is President of Weiser Works. As a global business leader with experience in human resources, Ann focuses on business integration, organization transformation and talent development. As an HR advisor to the Chicago Cubs, Ann is known for creating cultures and processes that drive business performance.
Larry Vincent, newly appointed Treasurer, is Chief Branding Officer at UTA and has developed strategies for many leading brands including Disney, Mattel, Microsoft, the NFL, Nikon, Sony Playstation and WebMD. Larry is also an Adjunct Professor of Marketing at the USC Marshall School of Business as well as an accomplished author. A proud Board Member of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, Larry’s family life and volunteer life converged in 2004 when his daughter was diagnosed with brain cancer, something he has written extensively about on Jordan’s Journey, a blog that chronicles his daughter’s inspiring will and perseverance.
