A local family thirsty to help find a cure for childhood cancer will sell lemonade with friends Saturday at the Bethany Recycling Center on Amity Road, as part of this weekend’s national effort to support the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.
This is the fourth year the Dworkin family and friends will participate. For $1, buyers get a glass of lemonade, and this year fresh fruit options will be incorporated into the offering, though the recipe still is a work in progress. The sale is from 9 to 11 a.m.
“We just like to help people. … It makes me feel good,” said Aliya Dworkin, 12, a Bethany Community School student who received an award recently for her community service.
