Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF), a nonprofit dedicated to finding cures for all kids with cancer, will host The 14th Annual Lemon Ball on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 6:30 PM at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown, 1201 Market Street. The Lemon Ball is presented by ALDI, Applebee’s, Northwestern Mutual and Volvo, with additional support from Diamond Sponsors Auntie Anne’s, General Floor and Power Home Remodeling.

Join ALSF Co-Executive Directors and Alex’s parents, Liz and Jay Scott, and supporters of the Foundation for a night of amazing auctions, stories shared by Childhood Cancer Heroes, memories of Alex and her inspirational legacy, honoree presentations, fabulous food and dancing.

Supporters will put on their best formal wear for this “yellow tie” gala that raised over $875,000 for childhood cancer research in 2019. Highlights of the night will also include presenting the Alex Scott Crystal Cup Award to Power Home Remodeling and the inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award to Dr. David Poplack.

Crystal Cup Award – Power Home Remodeling

Since 2011, Power Home Remodeling has raised more than $3.3 million to support pediatric cancer research through ALSF. Most impressive of all, much of this comes from employee donations. Each June, more than 2,500 employees come together for what they call “Alex’s Month” to raise money for childhood cancer research. ALSF is excited to recognize their dedication to the childhood cancer community at the Lemon Ball this year.

Lifetime Achievement Award – David Poplack, MD

David Poplack, MD, Director of Global HOPE (Hematology Oncology Pediatric Excellence) at Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Centers will be honored with ALSF’s first-ever Lifetime Achievement Award. Dr. Poplack served as a member of ALSF’s Scientific Advisory Board from 2005 until 2018. He also mentors several ALSF-funded POST grantees and is a world-recognized leader in the pediatric hematology/oncology community. His work in opening clinics for children in Africa is nothing short of remarkable. ALSF is thrilled to recognize Dr. Poplack’s extensive impact on improving the lives and quality of care for children with cancer.
