As you all know, our plans to run the NYC Marathon were scuttled this year thanks to Hurricane Sandy. Fortunately, we were able to secure a spot in the Philadelphia Marathon two weeks later and are heading out this weekend to complete our goal. So in the theme of turning lemons into lemonade, we've chosen Alex's Lemonade Stand as our charity partner for this marathon. It's not just a clever moniker, they do fantastic work on behalf of children's cancer. We're proud to support them and would like to ask for your help in raising money for a great cause and helping us get to the finish line a few hundred miles from where we thought we would finish!!

BUT THAT'S NOT ALL!!! We want to have some skin in this game as well and more important, we want to help the local efforts for hurricane recovery. So, we also have a kind of "challenge grant" associated with our charity effort. If we reach our goal of $1,000 by November 21st we will donate an additional $250 to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund PLUS Darin's employer is currently matching those donations, so this will end up being a $500 donation to the fund. If we get to $1,000, your donation will be used to help two great causes and your money will get a 50% boost.
