When
As many of you know, I was supposed to run the NYC marathon earlier this month. However, in the wake of Sandy, the race was canceled. While I had mixed emotions about running if the event had been held, it was clearly the right call, and NYC will have to wait another year. Fortunately, my investment of time and training will not go "to waste" since I was able to scramble and secure a last minute spot in the Philadelphia Marathon through a charitable organization.
You may already be familiar with the charity, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF), which emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004). In 2000, 4-year-old Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. To date, ALSF has raised over $55 MILLION dollars!
I know times are challenging for many, and I’m not normally one to solicit family/friends for donations, but if you are able to help out in any way, your money will surely be put to good use!!! MANY THANKS in advance for whatever support you may provide.
